He Is Faithful

19 03 2011

Thanks so much for all of your prayers and emails!  They have all been so so encouraging!  =)

But just as a quick update our team of ten was just moved from Tokyo to Kyoto.  The decision to go to Kyoto was in light of recent events regarding the nuclear powerplant.  The situation in Tokyo hasn’t gotten worse, but we moved as a precaution in the event that things do get worse.  Please please be in prayer for the powerplants.  We’re hoping to be here no more than a week and we’re anxious to get back to Tokyo as soon as possible as most of our students live there.

Here’s a small map of Japan that shows where A. Sendai, B. Fukushima, C. Tokyo, and D. Kyoto is.

This past week our team attended the JCCC National Student Conference or CHANGE conference.   Although many of the students that were planning to come didn’t, there were still around 100 students that came to the conference and it was a huge blessing. There were many people who were from the areas that were devastated by the tsunami or had close family and friends. Especially at a time when people had worries (that were mostly due to the media’s sensationalized reporting) and rescuers were going into places like Sendai to help, we along with our Japanese brothers and sisters were able to pray with and for Japan and it’s people, cry with them, but most of all worship our Lord as a body of believers.  God was doing a lot of healing in the hearts of students and really bringing affirmation of His love for them, His providence for them, and instilling peace.  Sorry I haven’t had a chance to upload my videos or pictures from the conference yet, but I shall soon.

Some wonderful news amidst these challenging times is that a student named Shoko accepted Christ today!!!  Shoko first was invited by one of our Christian students involved to our Girls Only Valentine’s Day Party.  She then joined the FREE Gospel choir and this past week she attended one of the evening sessions and sang with the FREE choir at the CHANGE student conference.  Today, her Christian friend who had been inviting her to all these things prayed with Shoko to receive Jesus into her life!  God is good!

Continue to be lifting Japan up in prayer in this challenging time.  We recently found out the universities may potentially be postponed for about a month so we are really praying for opportunities to partner with Crash Japan, a Christian organization that is helping with the relief in Japan.  You can join and/or find more information at http://crashjapan.com/

Love and blessings to you all!  God is working and I truly believe that spiritual healing is coming to Japan.

Here’s a song that has been really encouraging to me.  I hope it encourages you too!

In Christ alone,

Lyndsey
